Here are the 3 Side Effects of AI Technology on Human Life That You Need to Know!
In this digital age, you may notice that the entire process of creating a product, task, or project is often done using AI. This is not wrong, as this era has indeed evolved from the past.
In the past, we used books found in libraries as material for evaluations or as inspiration for papers and other things we wanted to create. However, with the advancement of technology, search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and Yandex have emerged, making the process of searching for information much easier.
What used to require us to travel from one library to another just to find a book and spend hours sorting through which parts were most important is no longer the case. Now, you simply need to sit in front of your laptop or computer and search for any book you want on the internet.

With just a few keystrokes and clicks, you can find the title of a book and even some conclusions from it. You can also search for specific words using the "find" feature, making it all much easier.
Initially, we had to go from one library to another just to find a book we were looking for, and spend hours sifting through which parts were most important in that book. But now, that’s no longer the case. You just need to sit in front of your laptop or computer and search for any book you want on the internet.

Now, we move on to this era and the future, where there are many AIs that can help us find information faster and more easily, such as ChatGPT, which is different from Google search engines.
You just need to type a sentence in ChatGPT, the same way you would search for it on Google, and ChatGPT will find an answer that is highly relevant.
While Google search forces you to visit multiple websites listed on their page, and sometimes the search results aren't very relevant, ChatGPT is different.
This AI will find the information for you and provide an answer directly, and of course, it will be highly relevant to your needs.
Basically, this AI is truly revolutionary—it can help humans do their work better and more efficiently. However, as time progresses, there will inevitably be negative effects caused by AI on human life.
Now, in this opportunity, I will summarize some of the side effects or negative impacts that AI technology might have on humanity in the future, what is it ? let's get started :
1. Humans Becoming Dumber
The existence of AI can also make humans dumber. How so? People are forced to stay in a position where AI platforms exist, while AI, which gathers information from the internet, begins to provide the information it finds to the user.
This is very different from the concept of a search engine. A search engine merely collects "books" in the form of websites, and you have to search based on relevance. Each website displayed on a search engine only provides a basic "example." So, search engines are not much different from libraries in schools or universities.
So, what makes humans dumber by using AI in the future?
These people are forced to think less and rely more on artificial intelligence. Not only that, people using AI will simply wait for the results from the prompts or simple words they input into the AI. As a result, the entire concept, structure of papers, tasks, and projects will be created entirely by AI. This is where the dulling of the human mind becomes evident because the challenging nature of problem-solving is no longer experienced by people in that time.
2. Humans Becoming More Impatient
This can also happen as technology advances and becomes even more advanced in the future. People will be forced to act quickly, efficiently, and instantly, especially when it comes to searching for information on the internet. They will naturally rely on AI for their daily needs.
Let me take the example of internet connections. Back in the days when 2G/3G was first released on the latest mobile phones, the internet speed at that time was considered revolutionary, right ? Even you, at that time, were willing to wait and never complained about the technology, because it was so groundbreaking.

Now, how would you compare it to today ? What would you say ? You might say that 2G/3G is extremely slow and not suitable for today's world, and that’s true.
But for sure, you wouldn't be as patient as you were back then.
Now, going back to the AI concept, what if the future is the same way ? You wouldn’t want long processes, you would want everything to be more instant. However, when faced with something slow or sluggish, you would start complaining, getting frustrated, angry, or upset.
At that moment, you would surely realize that AI could put humans in their most comfortable position when it comes to searching for information on the internet.
3. As a Platform for Committing Crimes
This could be dangerous for humans in the future because the side effects of AI usage can be harmful. There have been some cases where AI unintentionally took someone’s intellectual property. One example is when a design/voice style that someone owned was copied by AI.
There’s also a case where a school principal was accused of being racist through a voice recording in a video, but upon investigation, it turned out the voice was created by AI.
In fact, there are many more cases, and as technology advances, more and more people will likely use AI platforms as tools for committing crimes. It’s similar to the creation of a knife, whether it is bought by a housewife who enjoys cooking or by a psychopath intending to harm someone.
End
In reality, AI was created to help humanity, but as the features provided by AI keep evolving every year and becoming better, side effects like criminal activities will inevitably emerge.
I hope the information I’ve shared here will provide you with deep consideration. I don’t oppose AI technology, but if its development continues to grow as massively as it is now, it could pose serious dangers to humanity in the future.
